30 Days to Social Media Success

Once you get this system up and running you’ll be able to spend about 15-20 minutes per day making comments and posting new content to your own blog. It will take some time initially to get the system up and running but it works like magic once you get the automated tools running properly.

Day 1

  1. Download RoboForm to manage your social media accounts. Make sure you store your username and password for all of the social media accounts you create.
  2. Sign up for the following social sites:

  1. Create an account at www.socialmarker.com so you can easily post to all of websites above.
  2. Create a list of keywords and keyword phrases for your niche. Use www.freekeywords.wordtracker.com and Google's Free Keyword Tool to create your list.
  3. Download Comment Sniper and enter your keyword phrases to find blogs in your niche
  4. Read some of the blogs and comment on interesting posts. Watch this video to see how to make remote comments on the blog if they allow trackbacks. Always make comments using trackbacks if the blog owner allows them.
  5. Bookmark good blogs in your Digg and Delicious accounts.
  6. Sign up for Google Alerts

Day 2

  1. Sign up for Clipmarks or Evernote to help gather related information and resources for your posts
  2. Check your Google Alerts for content related to your keywords
  3. Create a post for your blog or write a 300-500 word article based on the keywords from your Google Alerts or from interesting news items that are related to your niche. Don’t forget to use your keywords in the front of the Title of the post, in the content of the post and in the Tags section of the blog post. Watch this video to learn how to do this.
  4. Go to www.socialmarker.com and enter the URL of your post. Watch this video to see how to do this.
  5. Find 5 blogs that have a high Google Page Rank and low Alexa ranking (the lower traffic ranking the better) that are related to your niche and list them below.

Bookmark these sites in your Digg and Delicious accounts.

  1. Subscribe to these sites using an RSS feed (watch this video to see how to do this) or sign up for email updates if they have a signup form on the blog
  2. Make comments on these blogs as often as you find interesting content on them
  3. Follow links in these blog posts to find other interesting, highly ranked blogs that you can add comments to
  4. Check Content Sniper daily for more interesting blogs

Day 3

  1. Continue to check your Google Alerts for news items related to your keywords and niche. Go to the sites listed in your alerts and make comments, using trackbacks if they allow. Otherwise just leave comments.
  2. Check your RSS reader or email for notifications from the blogs that you subscribed to on Day 1. If they have added new posts, read the posts and comment if appropriate.
  3. Start creating content related to your keywords whenever you have time. Spend at least one hour a week writing new content that you will use in the future as blog posts and/or articles. Write articles from the clips you’ve been downloading into your Clipmarks or Evernote program. Submit some of the articles to the article directories and use portions of your articles in blog comments and blog posts when they are appropriate. This will save you time in the future because you will have content ready to go.
  4. Go to www.mybloglog.com and sign up for some communities related to your niche. If you find interesting blogs, subscribe to the updates via RSS so you’ll receive notification of new posts. Bookmark good blogs in your Digg and Delicious accounts.

Day 4

  1. Continue to check your Google Alerts for news items related to your keywords and niche. Go to the sites listed in your alerts and make comments, using trackbacks if they allow. Otherwise just leave comments.
  2. Check your RSS reader or email for notifications from the blogs that you subscribed to on Day 1. If they have added new posts, read the posts and comment if appropriate.
  3. Submit your blog to the 20 most important website directories. Click here for a list of directories.
Day 5
  1. Continue to check your Google Alerts for news items related to your keywords and niche. Go to the sites listed in your alerts and make comments, using trackbacks if they allow. Otherwise just leave comments.
  2. Check your RSS reader or email for notifications from the blogs that you subscribed to on Day 1. If they have added new posts, read the posts and comment if appropriate.
  3. Sign up with www.isnare.com or www.submityourarticle.com and submit an article.

Day 6

  1. Finish setting up your accounts at the social bookmarking sites listed in Day 1.
  2. Continue to check your Google Alerts for news items related to your keywords and niche. Go to the sites listed in your alerts and make comments, using trackbacks if they allow. Otherwise just leave comments.
  3. Check your RSS reader or email for notifications from the blogs that you subscribed to on Day 1. If they have added new posts, read the posts and comment if appropriate.
Day 7
  1. Continue to check your Google Alerts for news items related to your keywords and niche. Go to the sites listed in your alerts and make comments, using trackbacks if they allow. Otherwise just leave comments.
  2. Check your RSS reader or email for notifications from the blogs that you subscribed to on Day 1. If they have added new posts, read the posts and comment if appropriate.
